Seamless gutter installation, repair, guards, and cleaning for Brigantine beach homes. Built for salt air and coastal storms. Free estimates within 24 hours.

Brigantine's housing is an island story. Most of the city was built in the 1970s and 80s, when the blocks between Brigantine Boulevard and the beach filled in with duplexes, Capes and raised ranches, and a lot of those homes were lifted higher still after Sandy. Nearly six in ten units are second homes or seasonal, so plenty of owners are not here when a gutter lets go. With the ocean on one side, the bay and lagoons on the other and the whole island at sea level, every roof takes salt, wind and sideways rain. Seamless aluminum gutters built for that are what we install, repair and clean across Brigantine.
That environment is brutal on gutters. Salt eats through low-grade metal, and storms off the Atlantic push more water than a worn system can move. Many island homes are also raised, with long downspout runs that have to be done right to actually carry water away.
We install, repair, and clean seamless aluminum gutters across Brigantine, from Brigantine Boulevard and Ocean Avenue to Bayshore and Revere, built to hold up to the salt and the wind that come with island living.
Get a Free EstimateThe gutter problems on Brigantine are salt, wind and height: salt eats cheap metal and sealant, nor'easters lift gutters that were only spiked on, and raised homes need downspouts that carry water past the pilings to the street.
Aluminum is the material for Brigantine because it does not rust in salt air the way steel does. We form seamless runs on site, hang them with hidden hangers screwed into the fascia so a storm cannot peel them off, and seal every corner with a sealant that holds up to salt. On raised homes along Bayshore Avenue and the lagoon streets we run full-height downspouts with extensions that discharge toward the street, not under the house. For second homes we can estimate and install while you are off the island and send photos when it is done. More on seamless gutter installation.
After a nor'easter the calls from Brigantine are the same: a downspout torn off at the elbow, a run lifted off its hangers along the ocean side, a corner that leaks because the salt ate the sealant. We re-hang, reseal and replace single sections when the rest of the system is sound, and we check pitch, since wind-shifted gutters overflow at the next storm. We also replace rusted steel fittings with aluminum so the repair does not fail the same way again. More on gutter repair.
Brigantine does not have inland leaf loads, but it has pines, sand and shingle grit that the wind puts in open gutters year round, plus seaweed and debris after a big tide. A fine-mesh guard keeps that out while the rain passes through, and it stops the wet, salty mat that sits in an open trough and corrodes it. Guards go on existing gutters that are still solid, and they are worth the most on second homes where nobody is around to clean. More on gutter guards.
Island gutters need a spring and fall cleaning plus a check after any major coastal storm. Grit and needles hold salt water against the metal and the fascia, which is what shortens a gutter's life here. We clean by hand, flush each downspout from the top, confirm the water leaves at the bottom and does not pool under a raised house, and look over hangers, seams and fascia while we are up. For seasonal owners we can schedule the cleaning around your arrival or do it while you are away. More on gutter cleaning.
Salt air and an overflowing gutter will take wood fascia in a few seasons. Peeling paint at the roofline, dark streaks under the gutter and a run pulling away at one end mean the board behind it is soft. We replace the rotted fascia and soffit, wrap the new wood in aluminum so it never needs paint and stands up to the salt, and rehang the gutters on a solid edge. We see it most on the ocean-side blocks off Ocean Avenue, and it is usually done with a new seamless run. Here is our fascia and soffit repair page for island homes.
The gutter work differs on the ocean side, the bay side and the two ends of the island.
Direct salt spray and the hardest wind on the island. Hidden hangers, aluminum everywhere and sealed corners.
Raised homes on the bay side, where the highest tides reach the street. Downspouts routed to the street side, with extensions clear of the pilings.
Older cottages and duplexes near the inlet, many on original gutters. Full seamless replacement is the common job.
Newer and larger homes toward the wildlife refuge, with long rooflines and complex downspout routing on raised designs.
